Computational Philosophy is the branch of Philosophy that investigates Epistemology, Action/Intention Theory, Ethics, and Logic using discrete structures, symbolic representation, algorithms, and inference methods suitable for modeling in software. Computational Philosophy uses software modeling as the primary approach to rational inquiry. It distinguishes itself in that its questions, answers, and methods are reducible to artifacts that can be represented by mathematical formalism, computer languages, and signal processing.

Computational Linguistics is an interdisciplinary field concerned with the statistical and logical modeling of natural language from a computational perspective. It draws from researchers in the fields of linguistics, computer science especially artificial intelligence, logic, and cognitive psychology. Computational linguists are focused on providing computational models (such as knowledge-based or data-driven models) of various kinds of linguistic phenomena.
